New baby shots
I’ve been sitting on these shots for a little while now, I shot them just before Mothers day and Neil, baby’s dad, wanted to give prints to his wife and his mum as gifts. Now that that’s all out of the way I think I’m safe to share them here!
I was following up on a similar set of shots I’ve seen elsewhere on some american websites, I figured I could create my own interpretation of them and as Neil’s son was so new it seemed the perfect opportunity! They’re lit with a single flash in a softbox that’s bigger than baby, held just out of frame. There’s a reflector in there too giving a little shadow fill. It was a very simple setup and we were all done in about 45 minutes. I think that that was a good thing too, knowing all too well how you feel on all but no sleep whatsoever!

March is just crazy in our house with three of the four of us celebrating birthdays in just 12 days, everyone except me! Chuck in Mothers day for fun and that’s the month pretty well tied up. Anyway, that’s the primary reason I’ve not posted anything for a little while.
It’s not that I’ve not been shooting though, far from it; I’ve got some lovely baby photos to share but I’m saving them until after mothers day, I also shot a fashion show at the school last night, for the PTA, unfortunately I don’t have appropriate permission to publish the pictures. Then on Monday I’m trying something a little different and doing some food photography for a friend in the ‘pub puddings business’! should be interesting!
The diary is filling up now, I’ve got portrait sessions booked and weddings starting in earnest in April. Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share next week!
